UAH Code of Conduct

Image:

The Code of Conduct of the Universal Association of healers is based on and in accordance with the requirements of UK Healers.

In this Code of Conduct the minimum standards set out identify appropriate behaviour for healers/therapists and are intended to protect the public when they are given healing/therapy.

For the purposes of this Code, healing has a specific definition involving the channelling of healing energy through the hands and/or with thought. It does not include massage, manipulation, the use of instruments, drugs or other remedies or the practice of clairvoyance or psychic surgery. It does include distant or absent healing.

All healers/therapists are expected to behave appropriately, take responsibility for their own actions and uphold public confidence in healing/therapy.

An established set of procedures will be used whenever a complaint about a healer or therapist needs to be investigated, followed by the possibility of disciplinary action if this Code of Conduct has been breached. A healer or therapist who is the subject of a complaint must co-operate with the investigating body(s) when called upon to do so, making a reasonable attempt to comply with the procedures and timescales required.

The Appendices at the end of the Code of Conduct give clear guidance to issues raised in the Code of Conduct.

UK Healers

UK Healers at present is a development group of various Organisations who have recognised the need for self regulation in respect of Spiritual Healing. They are joining together in light of the House of Lords Select Committee Report on Complementary and Alternate Therapies.

The main emphasis from the House of Lords Report was that each therapy should be self-regulatory, rather than having so many different organisations working separately. The concept of the UK Healers Regulatory Body is not to take over organisations but to formulate common basic standards of good practice, so that all organisations are working along the same lines for the benefit of the general public.
