As part of the training undertaken by Students in Jersey, an experiment was devised to see the effect or otherwise of healing on the growth of plants. In this case, how healing might affect the development of the simple Broad Bean.
Following is a report of the results obtained by a second year student. Similar results were obtained by the seven other students taking part in this experiment.
THE POWER OF HEALING EXPERIMENT USING BROAD BEANS
The object of this experiment was to determine beyond doubt, when growing broad beans from seed, whether it was possible to influence the growth in a positive way of just one seed by offering healing/positive thoughts to that seed.
In this experiment all materials were bought as new to ensure, wherever possible, uniformity and absence of outside influence or contamination.
This experiment was commenced on 26 February 2005 under fairly strict conditions wherever possible, the experiment being terminated on 31 March 2005.
Containers: Material: Compressed Peat
Size: Diameter: 1¼”
Depth: 2”
Growing Medium: All Purpose Compost taken from same bag as purchased new.
Seeds Used: Broad Bean. Care was taken when selecting the seeds (taken from the. same packet) that they were of uniform size and appearance.
One seed was planted in each container.
Each seed was sown at the same depth of 1”.
Water: Bottled spring water.
Method of Administering Water: Dropper Bottle
Amount of Water: 6 Drops per day
Site of Containers: Windowsill of bathroom facing north
Heating: No heating present in room.

Each day, subject No. 5 was removed to another room and given 10-15 minutes of healing. It is clearly demonstrated in the following photograph that this bean grew significantly more in height, was more robust and also showed a marked difference in root system to those which did not received the 'healing' attention.
This actual picture was taken of the final results on the 31st March 2005.
