Spiritual Healing, through the laying on of hands, links the self-healing ability of the body to the healing power of the Universe. The aim is to aid health through balancing and harmonising mind, body and spirit - our three elements of being.
Throught the Healer, the healing energies are attuned to the needs of the patient and go far beyond the securing of physical improvement, working on the mind, body and spirit.
Try to relax as much as you can. Have an open mind and a positive attitude.
You will not be asked to remove any clothing and there will be no manipulation by the Healer.
You may feel warmth coming from the Healer's hands, possibly a slight tingling or trembling or nothing at all. This does not mean that no healing is taking place - you will always receive healing according to your needs, though it may not be in the form that you expect or hope for.
Most patients feel relaxed, more supple and have an easing of pain following healing and may require healing on a regular basis. Discuss this with your Healer - Rome was not built in a day!
Remember, very often ill health is influenced by the mind and your thoughts can help or hinder the smooth working of your body. Old grievances, guilt, resentments, fears or other emotions can influence your health. Try to release them, forgive where necessary to help yourself regain holistic harmony. Discuss them with your Healer if you feel able to.
People often seek Healing as a last resort after trying orthodox medical help. Healing is NOT a substitute or an alternative but is complementary to other forms of treatment. Many Doctors recognise the benefits of receiving healing.
Nobody can guarantee to cure illness and Healers are forbidden in their Code of Conduct to claim to cure. Their work is complementary to what the Doctor is doing. Healers MUST NEVER give a diagnosis or countermand the advice or treatment prescribed by your Doctor and the Healer must always ask whether you have consulted your Doctor and advise you to do so if you have not already done so.
Many Doctors today have Healers working with them and will refer you. The Patient's Charter will support you if you ask your Doctor to refer you to a Healer.
Yes, but contact your nearest Healer to discuss this as not all work away from their normal healing venue.
Yes. Pain is often alleviated and many experience a sense of peace and tranquillity. Many find that the fear of death is diminished and the bereaved too feel much comfort and strength from healing.
The UKH Code of Conduct and Professional Indemnity Insurance conditions demand that we do. A brief account of each visit is recorded together with progress reports. These will go to your Doctor if they have referred you.
Healing energy will flow regardless of whether you have any beliefs or not.
Animals respond very well to healing, despite the fact that they do not 'know' what is happening in the same way as ourselves.
Most Healers do not charge, but if travel is involved then expenses would be appreciated. Some accept a donation towards their work, often in the form of a charity box. Others may charge a professional fee. It is sensible to raise this question at the initial contact.
Ask if they belong to a Healing Organisation and see their current, up to date membership card. Your safeguard is whether they are registered with UK Healers or not which can be checked by reference to UKH via the link on our Home Page.
